Thank you to those who responded to my last posting inquiring about the reasons to attend graduate school versus the reasons not to attend based on your opinions. A common pro that was listed was you can get a better or higher degree that will lead to more job opportunities. Also, you remain a student able to put off paying loans and you live in the comfort of not having to actively search for jobs. All agreed that going to graduate school is very costly.
A couple circumstances one poster presented that not many consider is that grad school makes you stand out against another potential candidate in the job market. Also, on the other hand not all professions require you to have a more than a bachelors degree such as masters.
It is true that attending grad furthers your education and gives you more in-depth learning opportunities on a particular field of study. In addition, during the time you are in school the job market may very well improve vastly, but that is never guaranteed. If you do decide to put off attending a graduate school for the time being, it is important to note that you can always go later if not immediately after college.

A couple articles for you law school hopefuls!
The decision of whether or not to apply to and attend law school ways heavily on the minds of undergraduate students and people in the workforce. Especially given the job market and current lack of need for attorneys. I found these articles online. One from the American Bar Association (ABA) in November 2009 and another from the viewpoint of a law school graduate in April 2012. I hope they bring you some insight. Keep in mind that there are two sides to the pros and cons of law school and these articles focus mainly on the cons. Articles on the pros soon to come!

As a college student, you are bombarded with
numerous life-altering decisions: What major to choose? Should you have any
minors? Should you change your major and possibly delay graduation? Probably
the most important questions is what to do once you finally graduate from college.
In today’s economy, perhaps
adding more student loans with a graduate degree is not the choice for
everyone, especially if you are footing the bill yourself. However, many argue that
these days you need a graduate degree to land a decent job in just about any
field. If someone decides to go to graduate school, they are faced with two
options. They could work first, save some money and take a break from classes or
they can apply their senior of undergrad and go straight through. One can question
whether or not it’s feasible to know all
these answers to these questions while in college and so early in life. This
blog will investigate various viewpoints on these issues for the present and
future job market from the point-of-view of myself, other college students,
professors, working adults, etc. Hopefully, it will be a good resource for
anyone struggling with these choices now.
